Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)

When it comes to working through trauma, sometimes talking about traumatic memories can be too overwhelming or hit a point where a client feels “stuck” in their treatment progress. EMDR therapy is a powerful, highly effective therapy that typically provides faster relief than traditional talk therapy. It uses bilateral stimulation, such as guided eye movements, tapping, or alternating sounds, to help the brain reprocess distressing memories, feelings, thoughts related to trauma. While originally found to be a treatment for PTSD, it also has been proven helpful for prolongued grief, chronic pain, addiction, OCD, phobias, anxiety and depression.
