Reproductive and perinatal mental health includes emotional experiences connected to fertility, pregnancy, pregnancy loss, childbirth, postpartum adjustment, and early parenting. While these periods are often expected to be joyful, they can also involve grief, anxiety, depression, trauma, ambivalence, or isolation.
