Hi, I’m Helen.
I became a therapist because I believe in the power of connection for healing. As a neurodivergent person with lived experience of trauma, I understand how isolating it can feel to live in a world that doesn’t quite get you - and how hard it can be to get support that actually helps. My passion is helping people learn their needs, wants, and limits - then build a life that feels feasible and meaningful. In our work together, you can learn to focus more on what matters to you rather than being controlled by your struggles.
I work with adolescents, adults, and couples navigating the messy, complex, and sometimes scary parts of life and themselves. Maybe you’ve changed therapists repeatedly, trying to find someone who can help, or have even been told no one can. I have experience in high-risk clinical settings and welcome individuals and caregivers navigating transitions back into home and community life. I also work with caregivers of children and teens with neurodivergence and/or behavior issues.
Every individual is unique, and our work together will reflect that. My core approach is trauma-informed, strength-based, and centered on the belief that you know your life, needs, and wants best. I won’t shy away from your pain. I’ll help you face it and work through it. I also draw from approaches like Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) to support your specific needs.
Change can be hard, yet it is one of the few constants in life. Therapy can help you build a different relationship with change—one rooted in empowerment and self-understanding rather than fear. Starting therapy can be one change you choose. I’d love to help you navigate the rest.
